AI DEV FOR PILOT PROJECT
We are an early-stage startup that builds agentic AI solutions . Our mission is to create a digital-first workforce that replaces many of the manual, rep-etitive, and time-intensive tasks currently handled by offshore teams and legacy systems. The initial use case we're tackling is rate management.
We've recently secured our first paying client and are developing a pilot to showcase the potential of automated rate aggregation and data extraction. In the long term, we envision a platform that enables agents to take on quoting, b-ooking, documentation, and other operational processes within the lo-gistics stack.
What We Need – AI Development Scope
We are looking for a freelance AI developer who can work with us on a short-term project to:
1. Build a Model to Extract Rates from Unstructured Files:
o Develop and fine-tune a model capable of processing freight forwarder rate cards.
o Extract key details such as route, carrier, contract terms, pricing, and surcharge conditions.
o Handle inconsistent column ordering, formatting, and terminologies across different documents.
2. Extend Extraction Capabilities to Communications:
o Build lightweight parsing capabilities to extract similar rate data from email threads, WhatsApp messages, and W-eChat exports.
o Emails typically include smaller, more tailored quotes, while messaging platforms can involve fragmented or inco-mplete data.
3. Integrate Outputs into a Rate Database:
o Collaborate with our internal technical lead (focused on database design) to ensure structured outputs from the models can easily integrate with our rate management system.
o Maintain flexibility in the pipeline to support future add-ons such as API feeds and scanned documents.
Why this matters:
This project is a foundational layer in our larger vision. By extracting and structuring rate data, we will:
• Improve quoting efficiency for logistics agents.
• Build the base for agentic workflows that act on clean data (e.g., quote comparisons, dynamic bookings).
• Begin replacing the BPO-heavy workflows oftoday with AI-first processes that scale more intelligently and afforda-bly.
Timeline & Availability
We are looking to kick off work in early May. Our internal team will handle the rate database and interface setup, so we’d like someone who can dedicate time to the model development and tuning in May and June. The goal is to ha-ve a working MVP by the end ofthe 8-week period.
Ideal candidates:
• Have availability to start in early to mid-May.
• Can deliver in an agile, startup-style environment with fast iteration cycles.
• Able to structure the data requests from the pilot customer to make sure we get the best results
